President Obama Unveils New Bullying Prevention Website

by Randy J. Wiler, Director

On March 10, 2011, President Obama hosted a White House conference on bullying prevention and unveiled the new www.stopbullying.gov website. I am pleased that the President has recognized that bullying prevention is a priority for America, but displeased that not all the resources from the www.stopbullyingnow.hrsa.gov were merged into this new government website. As a result of this action, the original www.stopbullyingnow.hrsa.gov website has been taken down and redirects to the new website.

The new website has some good resources, but has lost many of the resources we had access to through the original stopbullyingnow website. There is some GOOD news for those of us who preferred the original stopbullyingnow website! I have found an archived copy of the HRSA website and have updated all my links to the original www.stopbullyingnow.hrsa.gov website. Since this is an archived copy of the original website it will take a little longer to load, but it is worth the wait to get access to the already tax payer paid for resources that we once enjoyed from HRSA.

I am hopeful that ALL the HRSA materials from Stop Bullying Now will soon be merged into this new website. Until then, here are still some HRSA resources available for students and teachers including the very popular webisodes and games: http://takeastand.stopbullying.gov
